It was concluded also Pitti Bimbo, with positive signs, especially by those markets, such as Russia (+ 11%), which in recent times had shown some decline.

Pitti Bimbo is an exhibition that we can’t define only “textile”, for several seasons, and this year, perhaps even more than the other with 503 collections, ranged from clothing to accessories, from design to publishing for children, from objects to little travelers to those dedicated to the animals home … new exhibition projects that told the many facets of lifestyle for children.

I developed some Mood board on what I believe will be the most important trends for the next season. The first theme is FUNNY GIRL, I want to emphasize the desire for joy, fun, positivity manifested through color, graphics, and some styles. The signals coming from the world are not exactly reassuring, so fashion can (must!) also carry a playful and psychological task, especially that meant for children. Strong colors like fuchsia, lilac purple, vibrant yellow. Prints pop, cartoon, manga. A lot of the dresses and sweatshirts with embroidery and applications, almost artisanal.

Second theme starring the wool. It will star in the upcoming Fall / Winter. Will be divided into two main areas, the first most traditional raw, almost a hand-made, with the coarse, soft, enveloping, warm (mohair, angora..; braids, English knitted ..; oversize volumes). Neutral tones, many shades of gray. The other more creative, colorful, original with many jacquards.

Theme that takes inspiration from skiing vintage flavor. Jackets, parkas, thick duvets, Norwegian sweaters, plaids, tartans, warm colors.

Vivetta, when, with a detail, the collar, it makes a difference. It ‘a brand that I love, classic but also very creative and why not a little bit weird. And is nice when clothing stirs emotions and propels us into a world “fantastic.”

Holly and Beau, I loved this outerwear collection for aesthetics, color, technical (weatherproof fabrics), and for the “surprise” effect … is patented waterproof fabric of these cute bathing that changes color. One way to make interesting even the rain. They will appeal a lot to the children.

Lapin & Me, through a corridor with a little in a hurry, I came across these delightful toys vintage flavor. They are lamps, small briefcases, dolls, all objects that make a very special room. I find the “bunny” lamps that reflect the style of a toy forties, wonderful. Products in Japan and Germany. I’m sure that I’ll see these special items in leading boutiques.

That concludes the first part of this beautiful journey through the child’s universe.

But I would like to reflect on this point: the domestic market is still slightly distressed, we are invaded by an offer increasingly aggressive in terms of variety, quantity and especially price, it seems there are no limits on bass and unfortunately we are becoming people who do not recognizes (or does not want to do) the quality of a product and buy more and more compulsively. I think it will be necessary to go back, buy less but buy better; as always here at Pitti I saw so many beautiful things, creative, made with care and wisdom, so I can only be optimistic for the future of this extraordinary (and not only) “Made in Italy”.
