84th edition of Pitti Filati, colors, yarns and trends for Spring Summer 2020. Part one

The 84th edition of Pitti Filati, the fair that anticipates the trends of the future in terms of yarns and colors, is currently underway, hosting “laboratories” such as Spazio Ricerca, Techno Luxury or CustomEASY, explorations between materials and techniques, productive realities and designers.

This year the Spazio Ricerca talks about Sport, Far East and subculture. Japan, which will host the next Olympics, is the ideal scenario with its thousand-year-old culture; hence the strongest influences in a dichotomy that increasingly affects the life of each of us, tradition and innovation, dexterity and technology. Traditional sports and new sports, the latter come from the street and the youthful subcultures, such as surfing and skateboarding, for the first time included among the official Olympic disciplines and a fundamental element for a planetary awareness since both are very popular with young people. The exhibition project is under the artistic direction of Angelo Figus and Nicola Miller, the exhibition is instead of Alessandro Moradei.

To better illustrate the themes of the Spazio Ricerca, I developed and prepared moods in which I added knit stitches, colors, personal sketches and other evocative images.

HANDBALL The ball used in a less obvious, in fact here we talk about ball by hand. The means to play are easily available, a wall, a free space and a ball.

SKATEBORED. In the next Olympics this practice will find awards and podiums; still the way the scenery on which to have fun. Freedom and rebellion, these are the key words of the skaters.

CITYSURFER. An unprecedented vision of this sport, or Surf in the city. Young people have a great capacity for adaptation, and at the same time they manage to find alternative solutions by circumventing obstacles. The most striking example in Monaco where surfing on the Eisbach river and surfers come from all over the world.

FULLKONTACT and UPLIFTING. The first theme sees the road as a theater to measure its own strength and that of its adversaries. The other theme is focused on oneself and on overcoming one’s limits. Both physical disciplines, strong, that take inspiration from poor environments and give an extremely human face to its protagonists.

TACKY GYM. “Virtuous” discipline for technicality and aesthetics. The clothing used by athletes is often one step away from being considered kitsch. But in reality the harmony of the movements and the perfection of the same, make everything become sublime, even a set that in another context would be very unlikely.

The MODA FUTURIBILE project is always interesting, a project promoted by Dyloan Studio that enhances the excellence of the fashion system, through the creation of artifacts that are expressions of knowledge and synergies, the result of collaboration between companies and creatives. The conscious choice is implemented respecting the principles of sustainability, traceability, transparency, technology, ethics, experimentation and link with the territory. This year the theme was Food and Fashion, two different but very complementary sectors, both dynamic and characterized by internationally recognized Italian excellences and unparalleled know-how. The various actors in the supply chain, the designers, a Pastry Chef and a winery combine their knowledge to present unique products, linked together for harmony and good taste.
