Pitti Filati 79: Fall / Winter 2017-18 THE MAGIC OF KNIT (Part Two)

Continues the journey into the extraordinary world of knitwear, we take from the Pitti Filati SEARCH SPACE. This season it plays 24 hours a day where the pace is timetabled from duties and pleasures, from things to do and things we try to do ( and above all we want to do …). 24 Moments, 24 colors, 24 atmospheres, sensations … Twenty-four hours IN KNIT !!!

I’ve played other moments of this tiring but fantastic day (which is our life), creating new mood board with drawings and images. Inserting the magnificent mannequins and the stitches of the search for Pitti Immagine (concept of Angelo Figus + Nicola Miller).

EM Filati by Edoardo Miroglio. It ‘s always a pleasure to see what produces EM by Miroglio, maybe this season a little less “surprising”, but always very elegant and very easy to wear. Emphasizing on the most important thing, that with knit you can always dress up and totally, with the knit you can accomplish many things, and I talk about shapes, style, end-use.

From few seasons, collaterally to Pitti Filati, in the magnificent structure of the Stazione Leopolda, is also held VINTAGE SELECTION, where the most interesting exhibitors (but I would use the word passionate, lovers and collectors) of clothes, accessories and objects VINTAGE come together for this small (but great!) fair. This edition had gathered inside the exhibition hall, indeed even the entrance, after checking in, and I have to say that logistically it was very effective. We have lost a little the magic of the Leopolda, but we have gained in effort and time, both more than valuable aspects.

PX MILITARY VINTAGE. It could be a cover this magnificent dummy half diver, half astronaut, interesting for a video, a film, a photo shoot.

Jewels of Fantasy. Because basically sometimes we like to look like the Princesses out of time, these BIJOUX can make it easier this desire

A.N.G.E.L.O The pioneer of the vintage, known by collectors, amateurs, but also filmmakers, photographers, stylists … Italian and international. I have LEI magazine (now called GLAMOUR) of about thirty years ago, there at the end of the magazine is already quoted this incredible person that from a passion, the vintage, has made his job , or Angelo Caroli.

Franco Jacassi. Another famous precursor of the vintage, intended as an “artistic” collectibles form. Also nicknamed Mr. Button because of the precious buttons that collected during a lifetime.

LINEAPIU’. Magic knit “lanterns”, yarn, jacquard, colors … fantastic. A company that has really made the history of knitting and the history of “Made in Italy”

LINEAPIU’ Knit Art. Wow !!!! Seemed Alaïa … The proof that with the knit, with beautiful yarn, you can do anything

TOSCANO. Interesting interpretation of lurex on the knit, the mix of different materials with unusual effects (knit that seems suede), and colors card.

I will stop here giving you an appointment at the third and final part … with beautiful garments of knitted, made by students of the most prestigious fashion schools in the world, namely the project FEEL THE YARN. P.S. There are so many things to Pitti Filati (above all for those who work in fashion in the creative and design part), that only two posts were not enough !!
