Pitti Immagine Bimbo

Also for this edition Pitti Immagine Bimbo presents itself with what it does best, that is, offering beautiful and well-made collections of children’s clothing and accessories against disposable fast fashion.

In fact, there is a lot of talk about ecology but one of the most important things would be to carry out a real development of sustainable fashion to combat both pollution from dyes and finishes, and from the disposal of hundreds of thousands of pieces produced every year and, last but not least, to no longer cause allergies in children caused by “toxic” fashion.

I’ll start with a roundup of interesting images seen at the fair:

Sun 68 A little me from dad or mom, very Italian style. Refined, wearable, modern.

Petite Amelie from Australia a very romantic and feminine brand. Timeless, very high research into fabrics and details. I wish I could have worn it all!

Sophia Webster English brand of beautiful and original footwear. A few seasons ago Sophia debuted with her first “Upcycled” collection, reinventing and reusing surplus materials from past seasons to create new shoes.

À la Page very elegant formal dresses. Hyper feminine, for young princesses.

Dolce&Gabbana The brand codes shown in the beautiful junior and baby collections. A little one who has just returned from Forte dei Marmi or Capri. A brand that makes Italianness its flag, that of culture, style and well-made.

Retour Denim De Luxe Belgian brand among the most important in the world of denim. Very cool and wearable.

Junona Very diva, very feminine, very trendy, the young woman Junona. Special clothes and accessories, rich in details such as embroidery and applications, fine fabrics. Fabulous!

TELESYK AIRLINES Very nice Ukrainian brand. The common thread is always flight, like the brand logo, but also everything that doesn’t fly, like a penguin, but uses an airplane to do so. Also in this case a breath of fresh air in the world of kidswear. The fact that she is of Ukrainian origin makes me say BRAVA even more!

Flower mountain for Naturino Flower Mountain for Naturino is the vegan line born from the collaboration with Japanese designers. The original style blends with the Japanese world. The clothing capsule is beautiful.

HAIDÆND’SI:K Spanish brand that really impressed me. The adjective I used when speaking to the manager was DIFFERENT, because this brand stood out for its originality and contemporaneity. Very cool and interesting.

Here are three mood boards prepared by me regarding the trends for the next SS 2025.

MISS SUNSHINE: (apart from dedicating the title to one of the most beautiful films I have seen, and which I proposed to my son, TO SEE or SEE AGAIN). In this mood I underline the desire for energy, freedom and fun that fashion can also help create in those who wear it. Energetic colors characterized by shades of yellow (after all, it was also the leitmotif of Pitti, PITTI LEMON). Delicious clothes but with a modern and always ironic twist.

CREATIVE RAINBOW: Dressing as you like, without rules or gender. Let’s forget about the codes of elegance, but who defined them? For children the important thing is always to be creative and free. A rainbow color palette, with acid touches.

INTO THE JUNGLE: ecological, naturalistic, wild theme. Patterns dedicated to animals and nature, but always with a playful touch. Maximum freedom, casual. Bright green palettes, but also ocher, orange and turquoise.

Ao76 very creative Belgian brand without too much “noise”, understatement but with style. Suits boys aged 4 to 16. “Basic” things like sweatshirts, shirts and denim, but with that extra touch in the fit, fabrics and washes. For 24/7 everyday life.

MOLO Ethical and always very creative Scandinavian brand. Featuring original prints, designs and inlays. This season the Mexico mood is irresistible, especially in girls’ dresses.

Eirene Pawsh with the allure that characterizes the collections for teenagers, an irresistible capsule for pets. Prints and vibrant colours, fun and ironic.

Faliero Sarti The legendary scarves or pashminas that have made this brand known throughout the world, now also for a collection dedicated to our inseparable four-legged friends.

The O ceremony or something special for romantic little girls? The O is the right brand. Special pieces made with special fabrics.

Sarabanda A 360° total look from school to play, from ceremony to free time. Tailored style, right and well-made collections.

Philipp Plein Junior also in this case the DNA of the adult brand is reflected in the junior collection. Fun and very rock’n roll.

Editorial Somewhere over the Rainbow the Pitti Bimbo lifestyle showcase had the colors of the rainbow. A selection of accessories and design elements “Somewhere over the rainbow”, rainbow as serenity, rainbow as surprise, rainbow as a symbol of resilience and happiness. A universal language that reaches straight to the heart.

This edition of Pitti Bimbo has also ended, it was the 99th, therefore the next one (from 22 to 24 January 2025) will be the 100th edition.

I hope that this fair will resist a not too rosy economic situation. In fact, many multi-brand stores are closing, both in Italy and abroad, cannibalized by large, often low-cost, retailers. Italian companies, always characterized by “beautiful and well done”, struggle to find space on the market.

At Pitti Bimbo you see wonderful things that should be protagonists in shop windows all over the world. According to the Italian Fashion System, exports increased by 4.6%, while internal growth was less good. I hope for a reversal of the trend and that Pitti Bimbo will be able to regain the centrality it deserves.

Good life to everyone!

Beatrice
