The fashion shows have come to an end, New York, Milan and Paris presented the collections for Spring – Summer 2023.

LEATHER, still a lot of leather, especially black but also buff and white. It is “raw”, very fetish and eighties, but also soft and treated like a fabric. Very interesting are the feminine proposals by Chloé and Proenza Schouler, the minimal ones by Tod’s, the evocative and nostalgic ones by Gianni Versace.

PINK & LEMON, if I have to mention a color for next season, or rather a combination of colors, it is undoubtedly that of soft pink combined with acid yellow, almost lemon. Many brands presented it, with different effects. They are two shades that lend themselves very well to the shine of satin, but also to chenille and lace. Two vitamin, energetic nuances, a good omen for next summer. Almost fluorescent.

WHITE, together with black, is the real star of the catwalks. A classic, interesting in all shapes and representations. Romantic from Chanel, pure and feminine from Dolce & Gabbana, minimal from Burberry, contemporary from Jil Sander… really nice on all the catwalks. It is the color of purity and rebirth, we all hope so.

HEART, the heart as a symbol in the Moschino collection, hilarious, but also as a print and embroidery effect. The heart is a universal logo, it is no coincidence that it reappears, historically, just when there is not enough of the heart (of good, altruism, peace, charity ..).
These are some of the most representative trends. More will follow in the coming days.
I certainly thought how tiring it could have been, for the fashion houses and designers, to lower their heads and pretend that there was peace around them. Fashion never stops, it can’t do it, but these last few years, amid pandemics, wars and economic – energy crises, I think they have been hard and complicated. It is difficult to be creative in moments like these, so therefore very good (designers, companies, suppliers, artisans …) to have moved forward despite everything.
